Creating additional local specialist education provision

The number of children and young people assessed as requiring a place at a specialist education provision in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area has increased in recent years. Local provision to meet these needs is of high quality, but more places are needed.

In partnership with the BCP Council community of schools, a range of projects have been developed to create new provision to meet the needs of these pupils, closer to where they live.

Some of these projects include public consultation (called ‘significant change consultation’).

Find out more about current consultations for the projects listed below:

  • Longspee School satellite unit (ended 21 July)
  • Manorside Academy resource base (ended 21 July)
  • Broadstone Middle School resource base (ended 21 July)
  • Somerford Primary School reduction in published admission number (PAN) to enable development of satellite unit (ended 25 June)
