Accessibility at cinemas and theatres

Subtitled shows

Some cinemas have captioned or subtitled shows. Contact your local cinema or visit https://www.yourlocalcinema.com/ to find out more.

CEA Card

The CEA Card is a national scheme. The scheme allows disabled cinema guests to get a free ticket for someone to go with them when they visit a participating cinema.

Cineworld at Tower Park and The Odeon in Bournemouth are both scheme members.

Visit the CEA Card website to find out:

  • if you are eligible
  • where you can use the card
  • how to apply for a card

Autism friendly screenings

Many cinemas offer autism friendly screenings. Visit the Dimensions website for further details.

Local venue accessibility

To find out if a venue or activity is accessible:

  • visit the venue or activity website - you may need to check their FAQs
  • call the venue
  • visit the venue

Discuss your needs with a member of staff at the venue in advance to see if they can make special arrangements.

AccessAble is a useful website containing detailed access information about a range of venues.
