Transport Assistance for Poole Residents

Children and young people up to the end of year 11

Transport for pupils with SEND is not automatically granted.  If your child is of statutory school age and attends the nearest appropriate school or placement as recommended by the Council, applications for assistance will be considered according to criteria laid out in the Home to School Transport policy.

Students aged 16 plus

Students aged 16–25 may qualify for assistance with transport if they meet certain criteria. Please click here for details of criteria, links to application forms and other helpful advice about school and college transport.

Transport Assistance for Bournemouth Residents

Children and young people up to the end of year 11

There is no automatic entitlement to help with travel for a child or young person with an EHCP but we have a duty and powers to make travel easier for a child with SEND if they meet the criteria set out in our SEND Transport Policy. Please complete this form for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who have an EHCP

If you are a parent or carer of a child who doesn't have an EHCP but needs travel assistance from home to school you can apply for help.

Transport Assistance for Christchurch Residents

Children and young people up to the end of year 11

Pupils with SEND may be entitled to assistance with transport but do not have an automatic entitlement. For information on transport assistance please click here.

Students aged 16 plus

Students aged 16–25 may qualify for assistance with transport if they meet certain criteria.

Personal Travel Budgets

As part of a forthcoming review of the home to school transport policy, BCP council will be establishing a Personal Travel Budget policy.  When this is complete details will be published on the Local Offer.
