Transport assistance for Poole residents
Children and young people up to the end of year 11
Transport for pupils with SEND is not automatically granted. If your child is of statutory school age and attends the nearest appropriate school or placement as recommended by the Council, applications for assistance will be considered according to criteria laid out in the Home to School Transport policy.

Students aged 16 plus
Students aged 16–25 may qualify for assistance with transport if they meet certain criteria. Please click here for details of criteria, links to application forms and other helpful advice about school and college transport.

Please refer to the Bournemouth Transport Policy for children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities and/or an Education, Health Care Plan.

Pupils with SEND may be entitled to assistance with transport but do not have an automatic entitlement. For information on transport assistance please click here.

As part of a forthcoming review of the home to school transport policy, BCP council will be establishing a Personal Travel Budget policy. When this is complete details will be published on the Local Offer.
