Eating well for children and young people with SEN and disabilities

Meal times for families where children have issues with food can become difficult.

Children with autism may find mealtimes challenging for a variety of reasons. Ambitious about Autism has some advice. 

Scope has information relating to eating difficulties for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy.

Children with disabilities may also find it hard to eat because of swallowing, chewing or digestion problems. The Speech and Language Therapy Service can provide support.

There is also help available for young people who are showing early signs of an emerging eating disorder from the Eating Disorder Service You can also find support through CAMHS.
