Childcare Funding

A range of childcare funding is available for all children. Additionally, children with special educational needs and disabilities, are entitled to the following:

For children who receive Disability Living Allowance and 3 and 4 year old early education funding, early years providers are able to receive the Disability Access Fund

Two year olds in receipt of Disability Living Allowance and those who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), can access early education funding for 2 year olds.

Tax-Free Childcare is a government scheme that helps parents save money on the cost of approved childcare. For every £8 paid to a childcare provider, the government pays £2, up to £2,000 per child per year.  This increases to £4,000 per year for children with disabilities.

For full details of childcare funding available for all, see the information on the Family Information Directory.
