Mission Statement

The Family Information Service is an integrated element of the Local Authority's Customer Services approach and performs a statutory duty required under  Section 12 of the Childcare Act 2006.

The Family Information Service sets out to work with those families most in need and will reach out to families in order to overcome barriers to access. The service will deliver its information in a manner that allows parents to be informed and empowered to exercise choice regarding services  that support family life and their children.

Information is available to the whole family, including  grandparents and extended family members; targeted to reflect the diversity of the local community; and delivered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Delivery of the service will be informed by feedback from all stakeholders (including service users).
