Welcome to Dorset Homechoice
For people wishing to apply for housing in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole.
If you have applied to join the housing waiting list, or you are thinking of doing so, please note that it is unlikely that you will receive an offer of accommodation unless you have a significantly urgent need to move. This is because the demand for housing far outweighs the availability and, at the moment, BCP Council has around 5,000 households on the housing waiting list.
If your need to move is low, have you considered other options which would mean that you could stay where you are?
It is important that you consider all of your housing options and that you look to the private sector to resolve your need, or you look for a mutual exchange if you are a social housing tenant. The housing waiting list is not the solution for most people.
If you are homeless, threatened with homelessness, or fleeing harassment, violence or abuse then please telephone us on 01202 451467.

Please note: We are currently experiencing a significant increase in the numbers of people applying to join the housing waiting list across Bournemouth
Christchurch and Poole. This means that we are taking longer than usual to assess applications. This also means that we are not able to respond to every enquiry
particularly those asking if we have received an application or supporting documents. If you have recently applied
but have not heard anything
please rest assured that we have received your application and that we will be in touch with you shortly.
