School Nursing Service - Dorset Healthcare N.H.S.
School Nursing teams deliver the national Healthy Child Programme to school-age children across Dorset that includes a range of assessments and support for children and young people. The teams provide advice and support on physical and emotional health issues that may be causing concern to individual children/young people and their parents.
School nursing teams work closely with other professionals such as Health Visitors, GPs, Community Paediatricians, Speech and Language Therapists, Child and Adolescent Mental Health teams and education staff. The teams will see most children/young people and families in schools or in other community settings such as health centres and community clinics.
