Short Breaks - BCP Council

Currently, we are not offering short break holiday activities face to face due to COVID 19 restrictions. However, we will offering further on-line activities over October half term. Please request to join our BCP Council Short Breaks Facebook group as all on-line activities will be scheduled there. For further information please contact shortbreaks@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
Short Breaks offer children with a disability the chance to spend time having fun, learning new skills and developing independence. The planned activities give parents a break from the caring role and time to recharge their batteries.
Short Breaks are particularly for those children who struggle to access mainstream activities without support. We have different activities to choose from such as arts and crafts, activity days (on the beach in the summer!), swimming, archery, gym, trampolining, watersports etc so there is something for everyone! If you attend Short Break activities you can also have a say about the sort of activities you would like to do in the future.
There are regular activity sessions such as soft play at Lemur Landings (Tower Park) and family swim sessions at Montacute School Pool as well as Holiday Activities held during the school holidays for 0-19 years. These are held at different youth centres/venues depending upon activity, click here for listings.
If you are new to Short Breaks please contact the team to register prior to making any bookings. If you are interested in our commissioned services, please contact Angela Bowran on 01202 261908, e.g. Coping with Chaos, Gimme A Break etc.
