Stand as a Member of Youth Parliament

Member of Youth Parliament

This year we are excited to announce that we are running UK Youth Parliament elections to vote in the first two Members of Youth Parliament for BCP Council. We will also be electing two deputies.

Members of Youth Parliament act as ‘champions’ for the voice of young people. Once elected, MYPs meet with MPs and local councillors, organise events, run campaigns, make speeches, hold debates and ensure the views of young people are listened to by decision makers. Elections take place in February with the term of office starting 1 March.

Any young person age 11-17, who lives or goes to school within the BCP area, can stand to be an MYP and also have the right to vote.
