Breakin’ Workshop with ILL-Abilities - Poole at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts

Breakin’ Workshop with ILL-Abilities - Poole at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts logo

ILL-Abilities is an internationally acclaimed breakdance crew made up of artists with different physical abilities, united by a shared mission: to redefine what is possible.

Their workshops go far beyond dance, offering a powerful blend of movement, storytelling, and mindset training centred on resilience, creativity, and self-expression.

In the workshop, participants are introduced to the foundations of breaking, while being encouraged to explore movement in their own way. The focus is not on perfection, but on discovery, learning how to adapt, improvise, and build confidence through movement, regardless of physical ability or experience level.

What makes an ILL-Abilities workshop unique is the deeper message behind it. Through personal stories and interactive exercises, the crew creates an open and inclusive space where challenges are reframed as opportunities. Participants are invited to step outside their comfort zone, support one another, and unlock their own creative potential. No Excuses, No Limits!
