Step into Giant Country for a magical art-filled day inspired by Roald Dahl's beloved story The BFG! Children will explore the Big Friendly Giant's dream-filled adventures through playful, hands-on art activities that spark imagination, confidence, and creative expression.
Young artists will sculpt, craft, and sketch their way through the day, creating colourful, character-filled artworks in a fun, welcoming environment full of giggles, mess, and frobscottle-fuelled fun!
9:30 – 10:45 Clay Sculpting – The BFGKick off the day by sculpting your very own Big Friendly Giant! Using air-dry clay, children will explore shapes, textures, and character details to create a unique BFG to take home. All materials and tools provided.
11:00 – 12:30 Magical DreamcatchersNext, children will design and make colourful, imaginative dreamcatchers inspired by the magical dreams the BFG delivers. A fun, hands-on activity that encourages creativity and playful experimentation with colour, texture, and form.
12:30 – 1:15 Lunch BreakPlease bring a packed lunch and water bottle. A calm space will be provided to relax and recharge before the afternoon activities.
1:15 – 2:00 Character Sketching & Drawing TechniquesUsing clips from the film as inspiration, children will explore sketching techniques to capture their favourite characters. A playful, guided session that builds confidence and observational skills.
2:15 – 3:00 Watercolour Sketch – Favourite CharacterFinish the day with a watercolour sketch of each child’s favourite character, experimenting with colour, texture, and expressive mark-making.
