Help and advice with EHCPs

Support is available for parents/carers and young people from a range of places.

The BCP Council SEND Statutory Services Team are responsible for carrying out EHCEHCEducation, Health and Care needs assessments issuing EHCPs.

In 2026 we are hosting events suitable for Special Educational Needs and/or DisabilitiesDisabilitiesA physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term negative effect on an individual’s ability to do normal daily activities. (SEND) families.

Online information evenings for Education Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) 25 February and 25 March 7.00pm-9.00pm

  • EHCNA information and general questions regarding the EHCNA process 7.00-8.00pm.
  • General questions on anything SENSENSpecial Educational Needs is a term which refers to children who have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age./SEND 8.00-9.00pm.

SENDiass4BCP is an impartial, confidential, "arm's-length" service for children and young people (up to the age of 25) with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their parents/carers. They provide information, advice and support in relation to education, social and healthcare matters.

Parent Carers Together is a parent carer forum set up to represent the voices of parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (0 to 25) in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Independent Provider of Special Educational Advice (IPSEA) offer free and independent legally based information, advice and support to help get the right education for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
